Who doesn’t love a good day trip? Luckily I live on a twin isle so I have the option of popping over to Tobago for a day whenever the time and mood permits. It’s 20 minutes away by plane and small enough that I could take a nice drive-through in one day.
It baffles me that although quite small, I see or learn something new every time I visit. Although we are one country, Tobago is such a majestic little island with it’s own personality and culture.
This time around I visited with my in-laws so it was more of a guided tour operation than a rest day for me. Even so, I saw places I hadn’t come across before and got reminded just how mouth watering the food can be.
The day started out crazy grey and hella rainy but we used that opportunity to get in the water. Soon enough the rain eased, the sky cleared and the sun was out.
It turned out to be the perfect day but it would be remiss of me to not mention the little hurdles we came across on our day to Tobago. I truly love my Tobagonian brethren and sistren but you may come across some that are not so polite or helpful. We had quite a few but we didn’t let it spoil our fun. I think that’s the key for any where you visit. I am so happy that those experiences didn’t leave a bad impression on my in-laws who are tourists.
In my eyes, the good heavily outweighs the bad for my sweet Tobago. I am so proud to say that this is my home!
Have you ever been to Tobago? What are some of your favorite day trips?
….thanks for stopping by!
