July Goals ~ Blogging & Personal

One Pot Living July Goals

The year is almost done! Can you believe that? Feels like I just published my first post. Time sure is flying and I hope I can keep up with it. This month seems like it’s going to be a little more chilled than June and I’m not complaining. June was hectic and took forever to end. To keep up with everything and everyone, I tend to set monthly goals (when I remember). I try to be ambitious but also realistic, as with any goal. Here they are for July.

Blogging Goals:

~ Continue to do research on photography, writing, copywriting and marketing ~ Before I started this blog, I never really thought about copywriting and what it means for creatives. I can’t afford to make any mistakes or cause trouble for me and my blog so I need to be educated about it. With writing, getting your thoughts on paper in a way that can captivate and entertain an audience while staying true to you is more difficult than I thought. It’s a bit of a learning curve but it’s getting easier with every post, and I think my writing skills are improving.

I am actually loving photography more than I imagined. I’m still taking pictures with my smartphone but have delved into the world of DSLR cameras and I want to get one soon (there are so many!!). Photo editing! Where have you been all my life? This month I’m focusing on learning how to use various tools, while keeping my images authentic. Learning never stops.

~ Building a presence on social media ~ My blog is the main focus where this passion project is concerned, but I understand the importance of social media and the role it plays in gaining a following. I enjoy putting my thoughts and opinions out into the world wide webs but I feel even better knowing that people read and enjoy my posts.

I relish at the fact that I have the opportunity to create a community around my blog, and I intend to build a positive and influential one. This is taking a bit of work and research as these platforms are not so easy to maneuver when you want to build a following organically. This will be a work in progress for some time, but I intend to triple my current number of followers by the end of this quarter (I don’t have that much). Starting with July. Wish me luck!

~ Plan out future content ~ A work in progress but I think I’m doing quite well in this area.

~ Remember that this blog showcases my ideas, my thoughts and my experience – I need not get disenchanted by some people not liking my blog and its content. Not everyone will understand my point of view and that’s ok. I need to remember to remain true to myself and not lose sight of my goals and vision for this blog.

Personal Goals:

~ Eat healthier and exercise more ~ I am a lover of dairy, carbs and sugar. I use to be a gym buff (many moons ago) but now I am LAZY! I’m really trying to cut out the dairy and cut down on the carbs (I can’t give that up, it makes me so happy). The sugar remains. Let’s not get carried away. I’m also trying to drink more water and cut down on the fizzy drinks. So far I’m failing with the exercise, but I’m working on that. It’s such a shame though, because there are so many open fields and activity areas close to where I live.

~ Job hunting and career ~  I’m keeping the hunt on, but with a different mindset. I’ll be looking with a keener eye and clearer head in an effort to find opportunities that are beneficial.

~ On gratitude ~ I am one fortunate woman. I have a great husband, I am healthy, I have supportive friends and family and I have my own blog!  Life as it is, with all its quirks and unpleasantries, is one that I can be in with content. It wasn’t and won’t always be like this, but in the mean time, I am grateful.

So those are my grand plans for July. Do you have any? Do share!

Thanks for stopping by!

WOW. I hope to be as organized, focused and articulate as you are one day. My only plan this month is to focus on my trading studies a little more and try to get to work on time at least 3 days a week lol (we know that’s practically impossible).
*side note* you write just as how you speak. Jah knows you can talk. Lol.
Also, this is your blog, your experiences and your opinions. Some people may never understand your point of view and that’s ok. Stay true to yourself and continue to do things your way and the right people will find you.
I’m proud of you Mrs. LSRH
